About This Item
This variety grows 3 - 4 feet tall with a stunning array of flowers. Not only is the white flowering plant easy to grow and fast to establish, it is drought tolerant and deer tend to avoid eating it.
It blooms continuously Spring thru Fall (as long as you deadhead spent flowers). You’ll love its pristine white flowers centered with fetching fuzzy purple stamens and bright orange anthers. Many gardeners like to plant them in the border or rock garden as specimens or en masse for a meadow-like planting
This Mullein will grow to be about 3 - 4 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 18 inches. When grown in mass or used as a bedding plant, individual plants should be spaced approximately 14 inches apart. Its foliage tends to remain dense right to the ground, not requiring facer plants in front.
As an herbaceous perennial, this plant will usually die back to the crown each winter, and will regrow from the base each spring. Be careful not to disturb the crown in late winter when it may not be readily seen! This plant should only be grown in full sunlight.
It prefers dry to average moisture levels with very well-drained soil, and will often die in standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape application. It is not particular as to soil pH, but grows best in poor soils.
