Anise Hyssop plant grows as a summer perennial in USDA Zones: 4 - 9 and thrives in full sun to partial shade areas. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil after all danger of frost has passed in the Spring.
Anise Hyssop or Agastache foeniculum has a sweet licorice scent that attracts beneficial insects, bees, butterflies, and birds while also being deer resistant.
Due to this flowers fragrant purple to lavender blooms and a height of 36 inches, it makes wonder dried floral arrangements. It is also the perfect aromatic flower for flower gardens, herb gardens, wildlfower areas, perennial borders, planters, or as a container plant for your porch or patio.
Sow these heirloom seeds at 2 - 3 seeds per plant and keep moist until germination occurs in 14 - 21 days. Once established minimal watering is required.
Anise Hyssop reseeds easily and spreads quickly to fill in sparse areas in the garden. Start the seed directly outdoors in either the late fall or early spring. Do not cover the seed but press it tightly into the soil. Space the plants 18 - 24 inches apart.
