About This Item
Perfect for old-fashioned gardens or cottage gardens, Violas are simple to grow from flower seeds, and they have so many uses.
Viola is a low growing 6 - 8 inch tall perennial plant growing in USDA zones 5 - 9.
Viola Bambini mix is a beautiful flowering viola mix blooming from early spring into summer, and it typically grows 6 - 8 inches in height. Viola plants are just lovely and so well-suited to edging a border, rock and alpine gardens, hanging baskets, containers, and window boxes.
Butterflies love to flutter about Violas finding them a ready source for food. Grow them in the border, baskets and containers for wonderful color while the weather is cool.
Sow 3 - 4 seeds per plant. For spring transplants, start the Viola seed indoors 8 - 10 weeks before the last frost date. Using trays or small pots, sow the flower seeds on pre-moistened seed starting soil and cover with plastic to help keep the seeds moist. Once sprouts emerge, remove the plastic. When Viola seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow in cool temperatures. Harden off Viola flowers for 10 days or more before transplanting out.
