Cosmos Sulphureus (Gold) - treat yourself to a mass planting of yellow Cosmos easily grown from flower seed to attract butterflies and other beneficial insects to your flower garden. Cosmos Gold stands out as a bedding and border treasure no garden should be without.
This annual cosmos reaches 24 inches tall and grows in USDA zones 3 - 10.
Masses of 2 inch double and semi-double blooms arise all summer long on well-branched 12 to 22 inch plants. Cosmos thrives without hardly any care and will spread 12 to 17 inches wide even in poor, dry soils.
Like all Cosmos, this charming variety thrives in the sunny garden, drawing butterflies and compliments by the dozen. After danger of frost has passed, simply direct-sow the flower seeds wherever you'd like lots of quick, long-lasting color. Cover the seeds with no more than 1/16 inch of soil and keep the area moist. In approximately 10 weeks you will find your cosmos in full bloom!
The flowers are great in vases too, keeping their color and holding up their heads over a long period. Commonly called Klondike Cosmos.
